Restoration / Rebuild

JDH, Inc. has the ability to provide professional restoration / rebuild consulting.  Drying a structure is a science that is directly related to the temperature and relative humidity readings. As a result of this science, comparisons can be created to create conclusions which are directly associated with the specific humidity of the exterior air and the surrounding air of the affected area(s) of a structure.  Additionally, the elevated moisture content contained within the structure has a direct impact of the surrounding unaffected area(s).  Throughout the process dehumidifier exhaust air and the HVAC system (condition appropriate) are used to verify that a balanced drying system is in place and effective drying is occurring.

JDH has the necessary equipment to render an opinion on the quantity of drying equipment that should be in place and is accurate to the guidelines that are present from the IICRC S-500, which currently is the industry standard for proper drying /dehumidification for structures.

PRE-DRYING / DEHUMIDIFICATION PHASE:

  • Set an agreement on means, methodology and scope of restoration with the vendor performing the work
  • Assist in negotiations of contracted labor, material and equipment rates (daily / weekly / monthly rates; T&M vs. unit cost approach)
  • Opine on equipment calculations as well as dry down equipment to verify quantity used
  • Create an analysis of drying vs. replacement of non-structural building items for cost effectiveness

ACTIVE DRYING PHASE:

  • Documentation of temperature(s) and relative humidity readings throughout the process
  • Create an analysis of the presented monitoring reports, provided by the vendor(s)
  • Compare psychometric charts and the specific humidity readings taken by the vendor and JDH
  • Compare equipment quantities and placement to industry standards (S-500)
  • Comparison of dehumidification calculations presented and that a balanced drying plan / system is in place
  • Comparison of presented billing invoice(s) in an effort to verify that the drying phase is effectively working

CURRENT CERTIFICATIONS:

  • IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT)

The above services, when utilized with the Infrared Imaging Service, will assist in ensuring that structural drying is properly prepared and completed without excessive cost or intrusive damage.
